For the works displayed in this show Ruby has used alternative firing techniques like Raku and Obvara which allowed her the space to experiment and powerfully render the beauty and warmth of naked clay. Ruby says, “Sleeping under the starry skies, listening to the night sounds, the child in me was always mystified by the glow of the moon. The moon, though a constant muse, became a focus in my artworks only after the birth of my first grandchild. Just as the Moon orbits the earth, in a happy reversal, my life seemed to revolve around my grandchildren.”
